Job Summary
We are a locally owned bakery specializing in authentic Afghan bread and other traditional baked goods. Our mission is to provide fresh, high-quality bread daily while delivering excellent customer service in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, shape, and bake Afghan bread according to our recipes and quality standards.
- Operate bakery equipment such as dough mixers, sheeters, and ovens.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Package and label bread for wholesale and retail sales.
- Assist customers at the counter with purchases and product information.
- Monitor inventory of ingredients and supplies, reporting low stock to management.
- Support other bakery team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Work early morning shifts, with start times as early as 5:00 AM–7:00 AM, to prepare bread before opening.
Most employees start at 7:00 AM, which is when the baking process begins. - Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and kitchen equipment.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or culinary roles is preferred, especially in baking or pastry-making.
- Willing to train motivated candidates with no prior bakery experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings and weekends.
