Job Description

A prominent UHNW family based in Downtown NYC seeks a polished, discreet, and service-oriented Property Assistant/Butler to join their household team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in luxury hospitality or private estate service, bringing a proactive, detail-driven approach and a “no task too small” attitude. This individual will wear many hats—supporting household operations, maintaining property readiness, providing hands-on service, and assisting with events, guests, and occasional travel. A strong sense of discretion, professionalism, and adaptability is essential.

*Will relocate a star candidate*

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the household is maintained to 5-star standards of cleanliness, order, and readiness for the principals and guests, coordinating with housekeeping and stepping in as needed.
  • Oversee household systems, inventory, and supplies; handle light handyman tasks and basic troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors and property manager when necessary.
  • Assist with household organization projects, seasonal changes, holiday décor, and floral arrangements.
  • Provide seamless service for daily needs, meal setup, guest reception, luggage, errands, and both formal and informal entertaining.
  • Support private events and social functions, from setup through execution and breakdown.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure property security and functionality; open and close the residence as scheduled.
  • Manage and liaise with contractors, vendors, and maintenance personnel, ensuring discretion and quality control.
  • Maintain vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and retrieval from garage.
  • Provide occasional hands-on support with cooking, simple meal prep, chauffeuring, wardrobe care, packing/unpacking, and other ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UHNW household, luxury hospitality, or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of high-level household service and etiquette.
  • Tech-savvy with smart home, AV, and security systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and discretion.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; background check and references required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and be on feet for extended periods.
  • Professional, calm, and polished demeanor.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Prior experience in luxury hospitality, private estates, or yachting strongly preferred.

Schedule: Full-time with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. (Note: when principals are in town, availability on Saturdays is required.)

Compensation: $125K–165K DOE, plus great benefits (medical/dental, PTO, 401k)

Location: Fully onsite in Manhattan, NYC with travel to nearby properties (within 2 hours)
