Private Family in Smithtown, NY Seeking a Butler / Household Manager

Position: Full-Time Live-In Preferred Butler / Household Manager
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 40 hours per week, with flexibility as needed
Salary: $90,000 annually

Overview
A private family in Smithtown, NY is seeking a highly professional, discreet, and service-oriented Butler / Household Manager to oversee the daily operations of their home. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and able to anticipate the family’s needs while maintaining a smooth-running household. This is a live-in preferred role, with separate private accommodations provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day household operations to ensure the home runs efficiently
• Serve as the family’s primary point of contact for all household needs (“go-to” person)
• Assist with family support, including driving three children to and from school and activities
• Prepare meals and assist with cooking on a regular basis
• Handle errands, grocery shopping, and household supply management
• Manage vendors, service providers, and home maintenance
• Keep household areas neat, organized, and guest-ready at all times
• Provide support during entertaining, assisting as needed with hosting guests
• Exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
• Coordinate with the part-time housekeeper (who works 2–3 days per week)

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Butler, Household Manager, or in a similar private service role
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quick-thinking
• Warm, professional, and adaptable personality with excellent communication skills
• Service-oriented with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Respectful of privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Flexibility to live on-site (private guest house accommodations available); open to relocation candidates
