Job Description

Our client, a leading auto manufacturing organization specializing in precision metal components, is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be part of the Assembly Technology department supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Altavista, VA

Pay Range:$18.00

Shift: Night Shift (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

What's the Job?

• Operate CNC lathes and other precision machining equipment to produce high-quality metal parts.
• Adjust machine tools and settings to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
• Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and improve process capability.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, supporting overall shop cleanliness and safety.

What's Needed?

• High school diploma or GED with metal machining experience or a Machinist Certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience in metal turning, especially with stainless and brass bar stock.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate precision measuring instruments and gauges.
• Own tools necessary for daily machining tasks.
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and lift up to 35 lbs., with assistance for heavier weights.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
