About the Role

BCS is working with a growing, PE-backed construction and Field Services company that is looking to add a Controller to its team. This role will have autonomy and ownership over the Accounting + Finance function of the organization and is designed to grow into a VP/CFO role over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting, forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and financial reporting
  • Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Prepare periodic financial reporting packages and present results to the leadership team and PE firm
  • Strengthen accounting and reporting systems to ensure timely, accurate information for leadership
  • Partner with leadership to define and implement the company’s strategic roadmap
  • Assist with M&A due diligence + integration activities
  • Supervise administrative staff in project coordination, billing and collections, A/P, expense management, payroll, and compliance
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and company policies to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity
  • Lead external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors
  • Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and lending compliance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; strong understanding of GAAP
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Expertise in QuickBooks Online (or similar ERP) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Job Costing/ Percent of Completion (POC) accounting - can be from audit/public accounting
  • Experience managing and developing a team
