Job Description

We’re seeking a hands-on Controller to join a growing consumer goods company in a newly created role reporting directly to the CEO. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, roll-up-your-sleeves environment. You’ll oversee core accounting functions, guide a small team, and serve as a key partner in financial decision-making as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records
• Own the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
• Supervise and support a small team (1–2 direct reports), fostering a collaborative and accountable culture
• Coordinate tax documentation and deliverables with the company’s external CPA firm
• Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits
• Handle ad hoc financial projects and reporting tasks as needed
• Work cross-functionally to support financial transparency and operational efficiency

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in the consumer goods or manufacturing industry is a plus
• Proven ability to manage the month-end close process and generate accurate financial reports
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Excellent Excel and general accounting software skills
• Hands-on leadership style with experience managing or mentoring small teams
