Work Schedule:

Part-time, 60% FTE, night shift. You will be scheduled to work 8-hour or 12-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00pm – 7:30am, weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an Emergency Department (ED) Technician to:

\n
    \n
  • Provide compassionate care to patients as they receive treatment in the Emergency Room.
  • \n
  • Be one of the first people a patient interacts with and assist with taking blood samples and getting IVs and catheters started.
  • \n
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment.
  • \n
  • Communicate directly with providers, nurses, patients, patient’s families, and other caregivers regarding care for patients.
  • \n
  • Record information in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • \n
  • Respond to pages/codes and assist as directed.
  • \n
  • Act as an observer for behavior health complaints.
  • \n

Emergency Technicians at UW Health 

\n\n  \n\n\n Qualifications\n\n\n \n
    \n
  • Completion of EMT-Basic Required
  • \n
  • Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program Preferred
  • \n
\n \n \n  \n \n \n Work Experience\n \n \n
    \n
  • Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities to include EMS Preferred
  • \n
\n \n \n  \n \n \n Licenses & Certifications\n \n \n
    \n
  • EMT – Basic license or National Registry of EMT Required
  • \n
  • CPR/BLS certification Required
  • \n
  • National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic license Preferred
  • \n
  • ACLS and PALS certification Preferred
  • \n
