Job Description Job Description Family Law Associate Are you an ambitious attorney with a passion for family law? Our growing Joliet, IL firm is looking for a driven mid-level Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain significant courtroom experience, develop key legal skills, and play a vital role in a fast-paced and supportive environment. This position is ideal for an individual with foundational experience who is eager to take on a dynamic caseload and grow with our firm. We handle a variety of legal matters, with a primary focus on family law, probate, and estate planning. Responsibilities: Serve as primary legal counsel, advising clients on all aspects of their cases. Manage a diverse caseload, including divorce, parentage, post-decree, and probate cases. Draft, review, and finalize a wide range of legal documents. Represent clients effectively in court, including at contested hearings and trials. Negotiate and secure favorable settlements and agreements. Oversee support staff and junior attorneys, providing guidance and mentorship. Conduct thorough legal research and stay current on all relevant laws and regulations. Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Illinois is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney, with at least 1 year in family law being essential. Experience in probate or estate planning is highly preferred. Proven ability to litigate cases and manage multiple cases at once. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Joliet, IL. We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package to the right candidate. The salary for this role is between $85,000.00 and $120,000.00 per year , based on experience.
