About the Role:
At Sierra Hospice, we believe that even the hardest moments can be held with grace. We're looking for a compassionate and grounded professional to serve in a dual role as Hospice Chaplain and Volunteer Coordinator . Based in the heart of Truth or Consequences, NM, this full-time position offers a unique opportunity to serve patients and families during life’s most sacred transitions — all within a small-town community that deeply values personal connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families, regardless of faith tradition
  
• Lead grief support, spiritual counseling, and end-of-life discussions with empathy and sensitivity
  
• Conduct or coordinate memorial services, blessings, or rituals as appropriate
  
• Recruit, train, and supervise hospice volunteers to ensure meaningful engagement
  
• Coordinate volunteer assignments and track service activities
  
• Serve as a liaison between the interdisciplinary care team, patients, families, and volunteers
  
• Document visits and interactions in accordance with hospice standards
  
• Uphold HIPAA and ethical guidelines in all interactions
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in grief ministry, pastoral care, or hospice chaplaincy
  
• Comfortable working with diverse belief systems and cultural backgrounds
  
• Strong communication and listening skills
  
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and emotional presence
  
• Organized and self-directed — able to manage both chaplain and volunteer functions
  
• Prior experience managing or supporting volunteers preferred
  
• End-of-life care training or certifications a plus
  
• Bachelor's degree or seminary training preferred but not required
