Job Summary

Evaluate schedule and fleet deployment adjustments to enhance route financial outcomes and operational efficiency, with a specific emphasis on route and service expansion.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and recommend changes: Use quantitative analyses to suggest schedule, fleet deployment, and other adjustments for Amtrak train operations.
  • Develop contacts and gather information: Establish contacts within Amtrak and government partners to vet proposals and assess stakeholder input.
  • Apply comprehensive understanding: Utilize thorough knowledge of Amtrak operations, data sources, and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Lead efforts to develop, implement, and evaluate schedule changes, fleet deployment changes, and expansion plans.
  • Lead reviews and assessments: Oversee evaluations of route financial performance and the development of annual schedule and fleet deployment plans.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in written and oral communication, presentation, facilitation, interpersonal skills, time management, conflict resolution, and investigation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously using appropriate administrative tools and controls
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, demonstrated
  • Outstanding analytical skills and understanding of quantitative concepts
  • Skilled in use of personal computer software and applications (including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)

The salary/hourly range is $94,300.00 - $122,256.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
