Learning Experience Designer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite)
Duration: 3 Months (Full-time, 40 hours/week)
W2H Pay Rate: $30

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Learning Experience Designer to join our client’s Learning & Development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative learning projects, collaborate with subject matter experts, and craft engaging educational experiences that empower employees and foster growth within a leading national retailer headquartered in Pittsburgh.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and status trackers to ensure smooth execution of learning initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder communication, ensuring clarity and alignment across all project phases.
  • Facilitate and document project meetings, capturing key decisions, action items, and risks.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones, proactively identifying and escalating risks or delays to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation, including version control and reporting updates for transparency.

Learning Experience Design:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze needs, gather content, and define clear learning objectives.
  • Draft storyboards, outlines, and course structures that facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
  • Design and develop high-quality training materials such as presentations, job aids, e-learning modules, and guides.
  • Support quality assurance processes to verify content accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Apply foundational learning design principles to create engaging, clear, and accessible learning resources.
  • Implement and update training content within the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring seamless delivery.

Program Support & Participant Coordination:

  • Schedule and coordinate learning sessions, rotations, and speaker events, maintaining detailed participant and facilitator schedules.
  • Collaborate with facilitators, mentors, and managers to ensure smooth execution of programs.
  • Track participant progress, assignments, and rotational placements, providing updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven ability to gather requirements from SMEs and translate them into actionable learning objectives.
  • Experience in storyboarding, content structuring, and designing logical course flows.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional strategies to maximize engagement.
  • Proficiency with content development tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Articulate, Captivate, Rise, or Canva.
  • Ability to design assessments like quizzes, reflection prompts, and activities that reinforce learning objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working in or supporting corporate training environments is preferred.
