We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate billing and claims processing within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in medical billing, coding, and collections while demonstrating a strong commitment to compliance and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
• Review and validate patient billing information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or via paper, adhering to industry standards.
• Investigate and resolve unpaid claims by coordinating with insurance providers and addressing billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate accurate billing processes.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to relevant healthcare regulations.
• Keep up to date with current insurance guidelines and billing codes to ensure compliance.
• Utilize specialized billing platforms and tools, including Epaces, for claims processing.
• Monitor and manage medical collections to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
• Provide support for coding tasks related to medical claims and documentation.• Proven experience in medical billing and claims processing within a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with standard billing codes.
• Strong understanding of medical collections and insurance claims procedures.
• Hands-on experience using Epaces or similar billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in patient data.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills for interacting with providers and payers.
• Ability to stay updated on changes in insurance policies and billing practices.
