It is the purpose of the NCLEX Coach/NCLEX Success Navigator member at Florida National University to provide quality instruction and career advisement to all students. Follow all FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation and the FNU Code of Ethics. As well as, Title IX, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, as amended from time to time (“FERPA”), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014, as amended from time to time (“FIPA”), the EU General Data Protection Regulation as amended from time to time (GDPR) and all other applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Reporting Relationship : NCLEX Coach/NCLEX Success Navigator Member shall report to the Director of Nursing

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reads, understands and complies with the University’s mission, the catalog, the University’s policies and procedures, the Faculty Handbook, the institutional effectiveness process and the FBON guidelines.
  2. Provides appropriate level of instruction.
  3. Provides quality instruction for the students.
  4. Implements effectively NCLEX nursing resources (Passpoint, Kaplan, ATI, Hurst, U world, HESI, etc.) material where utilized
  5. Provides feedback and develops an individualized remediation plan for any student who is not performing successfully in Exit exam OR REMEDIAL exams.
  6. Tracks testers who are ready and not ready for NCLEX.
  7. Conducts NCLEX prep workshops if needed.
  8. Conducts 1:1 individualized coaching to students who are preparing for NCLEX.
  9. Tracks NCLEX pass rate.
  10. Assist students for registering to BON and Pearsonvue.
  11. Collaborate with faculty regarding high risk students.
  12. Minimum of two years’ experience as NCLEX success coach.
  13. Experienced nursing faculty in preparing nursing students for NCLEX-RN licensure. Must have a documented record of success.
  14. Must have the minimum higher education background required by the program. Must provide a documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments including, but not limited to: education theory and practice, current concepts relative to specific subjects one will be teaching, current clinical practice experience or distance education techniques and delivery.
  15. Master’s degree in specialty field required.
  16. Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing
  17. Conducts classes for the schedule amount of hours each class meeting.
  18. Models appropriate attendance for his/her students.
  19. Demonstrates evidence of professional growth through participation in continuing education, research or related activities.
  20. Attends all faculty meetings, professional development functions and University committees to which they have been assigned.
  21. Performs the administrative duties designated by the program director.
  22. Works with the librarians in the establishment and weeding of the library program and course collection development.
  23. Participates in the Commencement Exercises.
  24. Performs any special project assigned by the President or supervisor.
  25. Performs others duties as assigned.

  1. Ensure they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of 1972.
