Job Description

Summary

The Post-Harvest Manager oversees the processes from pre-harvest planning to interdepartmental final product transfers, ensuring that harvested plant material moves through the post-harvest pipeline carefully and efficiently, and in compliance with state regulations and company standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position involves oversight of the harvesting, drying/curing, trimming, and testing of all harvests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the harvest process and all recordkeeping/data entry that follows.
  • Follows the Post-Harvest’s production schedule each week, to ensure the daily operations are streamlined to meet demand.
  • Follows deadlines to ensure the post-harvest department is meeting set goals.
  • Follows company SOP’s and adjust based off facility and compliance needs
  • Ensures that harvested plants are correctly weighed and recorded into the inventory tracking software and any applicable internal inventory tracking software.
  • Inspects drying plant material daily and monitor moisture levels.
  • Maintains digital and physical inventory of all post-harvest material.
  • Oversees the curing process of drying plant material depending on the moisture levels.
  • Inspects for signs of pests, mold, or mildew.
  • Keeps company’s pipeline transparent and accurate.
  • Monitors and upholds the company’s quality control program.
  • Orders of production daily burn materials.
  • Trains staff members and offer training regularly.
  • Performs staff performance reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check
  • Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent leadership ability, and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high stress situations.
  • Available to work weekends and holidays as necessary.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions. The ability to work in low light situations.   • Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ Years professional cannabis experience on a commercial scale
  • Experience in any relevant trades, including inventory management, food handling, etc.
  • Some college recommended but not required
