Location : Private Residence | Morristown, NJ
Reports To : Executive Chef

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and hospitality-driven Private Chef to support a private residence with a refined, wellness-forward culinary program. This role blends the creativity of fine dining with the care and attentiveness of personalized home cooking, serving a small group of high-level executives and guests in an intimate, luxury setting.

The ideal candidate has strong culinary instincts, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of discreet, service-oriented environments. This position requires flexibility, professionalism, and a passion for preparing beautiful, seasonal meals that nourish and impress.

This opportunity is full-time Saturday-Tuesday (4/10 hour days)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalized Culinary Execution :
    Prepare and present thoughtfully tailored meals based on daily rhythms, guest preferences, and dietary needs—including elevated breakfast offerings, customized lunches, and curated dinner experiences.
  • Hospitality-Driven Service :
    Bring warmth, precision, and care to every culinary interaction. Anticipate needs, personalize service, and create memorable food experiences in a home setting.
  • Kitchen Operations & Organization :
    Maintain a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked kitchen. Ensure all food safety and sanitation protocols are met or exceeded.
  • Collaboration & Communication :
    Work alongside the Executive Chef to execute menus, source specialty ingredients, and plan for upcoming meals, events, or guest stays.
  • Discretion & Flexibility :
    Maintain absolute discretion at all times and adapt easily to changing schedules, special requests, and evolving preferences.
  • Seasonal Sourcing & Wellness-Focused Cuisine :
    Embrace local, seasonal ingredients with a focus on health-conscious cooking and beautiful presentation.
  • Support for Entertaining :
    Assist with small-scale events, tastings, or dinners hosted within the residence, ensuring seamless execution and elevated guest experience.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional culinary experience , with at least 1 year in a private chef, fine dining, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of seasonal cooking, wellness-forward cuisine, and modern plating.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to operate in a private, professional environment.
  • Familiarity with special diets (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
