Overview Pruner - Full Time role at Disneyland Resort. Local, Southern California applicants sought – NO RELOCATION OFFERED. Responsibilities Climbing: Enter a tree (10 to 150 feet) via safe climbing practices under WC-CTW, ISA and ANSI Z133.1 guidelines, and safely use an aerial lift under DLR guidelines. Gain proficiency and knowledge of different climbing systems. Pruning: Prune young and mature trees using ISA and ANSI Z133.1 pruning standards; use hand pruners, pole pruners, hand saws, pole saws and chainsaws to complete the job. Young Tree Care – Planting: Plant 15-gallon, 24-inch box trees using ISA and ANSI Z133.1 standards (lifting involved). Young Tree Care – Transplanting: Box up to a 24-inch root ball (shoveling, strapping, bending, pushing/pulling and lifting). Staking New Trees: Proficient in staking, use of ladder, stake pounder, and other staking tools. Inventory Maintenance and Inspection: Tree tagging, tree inspection, data recording in field and in the Access Database Inventory Program; understand Arboriculture regarding tree health and structure defects; input data into Access. Mature Tree Care – Cabling and Bracing: Familiar with hardware and ISA/ANSI Z133.1 installation guidelines. Mature Tree Care – Rigging: Safely perform rigging operations under ISA/ANSI Z133.1; gain proficiency in different rigging systems. Mature Tree Care – Removals: Safely removing trees (10-150 feet) using pruning tools. Groundwork: Secure work area, provide ground support to climbers, remove/deposit debris with a chainsaw and safe chipper operation under ISA/ANSI Z133.1. Emergencies: Handle stressful emergency situations within the tree crew and for Cast Members or Guests; on-call 24/7 availability. Basic Qualifications Schedule Availability: Open to any shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd) including holidays, with any combination of days off. Must have experience performing duties listed under Responsibilities. Must have a valid California Driver’s License. Must possess a Western Chapter Certified Tree Worker (WC-CTW) certification or ability to obtain it. At least 18 years of age. Preferred Qualifications WC-CTW certification. CPR and First Aid Certification. Additional Information Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; shifts may start as early as 2:00 AM or end as late as 10:30 AM. This role is Full Time and requires full availability, including working evenings, weekends and holidays when needed.
