Senior Associate, Connections Strategy at Rise summary:

The Senior Associate, Connections Strategy at Rise is responsible for designing and implementing data-driven marketing communications strategies that address client business challenges. This role involves analyzing diverse data sources to uncover audience insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop integrated media plans, and contributing to new business initiatives while mentoring junior colleagues. The role requires 2-3 years of experience in communications planning or media strategy and emphasizes strategic thinking, data analysis, and effective stakeholder communication.

General Purpose of Job:

The purpose of the Sr. Associate, Connections Strategy role is to help architect the marketing communications solution to our clients’ business problem. We help clients find the audience that will grow their business. Then, we collect and analyze data about the people we want to influence, and we hone that data into sharp insights that will inform ideas, connections and success metrics that drive growth and make an impression.

You bring 2–3 years of experience in communications planning, media strategy, or a related discipline and a hunger to grow. You’re comfortable analyzing data, crafting audience narratives, and collaborating across disciplines to develop smart, effective work. You're curious, confident, and developing the instincts of a strategist who knows how to move people and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uncover strategic audience opportunities by analyzing a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data—distilling insights that drive client growth.
  • Identify and size business growth opportunities through first-party, third-party, syndicated, and competitive data analysis.
  • Support the design of end-to-end communications experiences across paid, owned, and earned media—tailored to each client’s goals and KPIs.
  • Clearly articulate the role of each media channel within an integrated connections strategy.
  • Become a go-to expert in strategic research tools (e.g., Quad’s Tech Stack, MRI/Simmons, and other syndicated platforms) and planning processes.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each paid media channel’s strengths, nuances, and best use cases—collaborating effectively with channel specialists to build seamless strategies.
  • Identify high-impact messaging moments—when and where target audiences are most receptive to brand communication.
  • Deliver proactive POVs on emerging trends and industry shifts, supporting both internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Lead the analysis of marketplace trends, recommending strategic adjustments and educating stakeholders on evolving dynamics.
  • Partner with leadership and peers to improve workflows, enhance tools, and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to new business development efforts—including RFP responses, proposal development, and pitch presentations.
  • Foster team growth by mentoring junior talent, promoting accountability, and ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables across projects.
  • Collaborate across media, creative, and analytics teams to bring integrated communications experiences to life

Education: Bachelor’s degree (communications, marketing, advertising, or business preferred).

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in communications planning, strategy, or media. Experience supporting cross-channel planning or account planning is strongly preferred.
  • A history of supporting the development of holistic communications planning strategies or experience in media planning is preferred but not required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Formal AI training is preferred

Employees can be expected to be paid an annualized salary range of $51,610 - $77,410, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions.
