RSM's National Healthcare Consulting practice is searching for an Epic Senior Associate who will participate in all aspects of the systems implementation lifecycle related to healthcare Information Technology applications. This includes managing customer requirements, system configuration, testing, training, and go-live support activities. Additionally, this role will support strategic IT projects such as Epic optimizations, implementations, and strategic services. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary project team and will work collaboratively with both consulting and client team members. As a member of RSM's National Epic Healthcare consulting practice, you will join professionals with broad knowledge of the healthcare industry, including revenue cycle management, clinical integration, interoperability, third-party integration, operational efficiencies, and system optimization and maintenance. The Healthcare Systems Epic Senior Associate will have a basic understanding of the Epic lifecycle process within the healthcare industry. As a key contributor, he/she will support building a world-class healthcare practice through listening to client needs, proposal development, and presenting solutions. Responsibilities: Deliver mid to large-sized healthcare technology projects with healthcare providers, payers, and related organizations. Design, build, implement, optimize, and support assigned Epic applications. Develop a deep understanding of Epic software, healthcare workflows, and project leadership. Translate clinical and business requirements into technical solutions, maintaining stakeholder communication pathways. Enhance Epic system excellence and patient care outcomes. Lead planning, analysis, design, and implementation of Epic modules. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and primary client contact. Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for clients and delivery teams. Mentor associates and provide guidance on Epic standards and protocols. Coordinate cross-functional projects with clinical and business teams. Manage internal resources, third parties, vendors, and client representatives for project execution. Ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations, scope, and budget. Manage expectations of senior client leadership and address risks and issues. Define project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and assessing technical feasibility. Develop project plans, monitor progress, and report updates. Manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate techniques. Report and escalate issues as necessary. Collaborate with the Epic RSM director to develop practice collateral and serve as a practice expert. Contribute to the Epic practice mentor program. Travel as needed (25-50%). Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information systems, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience working with Epic systems in a healthcare environment. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support others. Preferred Skills: Experience with multiple Epic modules or cross-functional integrations. Proven ability to lead small teams and manage multiple priorities. Strong understanding of healthcare operations and workflows. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Project management experience is a plus. Active Epic certification; multiple certifications are a plus.
