Job Summary : Under close to general supervision, transports passengers and/or mail and materials in an assigned geographical area. Ensures safety of vehicle being operated. May perform and/or assist with routine maintenance of vehicles. May perform general maintenance of office areas and grounds. May make vehicle assignments to staff.

Required Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED AND Any combination of training and experience which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Required licenses and certification: Class 1 Georgia motor vehicle operator’s license. Note: when operating vehicles 80 inches wide or wider, designed to carry more than 10 passengers, a class III operator’s license is required.

Work Environment : This job requires driving an agency vehicle to transport consumers within the service area. Travel between Gateway sites and the community is required.

Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Employee frequently uses fine hand/eye coordination, hearing and visual acuity. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant condition caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Gateway sites.
