Weld Engineering Internship

Scot Forge Company is looking to hire a Weld Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. A Weld Engineering internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the manufacturing industry and welding engineering profession. This intern will be supporting the weld engineering and metallurgy team through their daily tasks and projects.

Anticipated Projects include:

• Assist with the development of procedure qualifications for welding including program qualification work for both technology and technicians.
• Support of the wire direct energy disposition cell, die repair cell, and/or NDE program

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Two completed years or Junior standing in a Weld Engineering or Weld Technology Bachelor’s program
• Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
• Strong technical writing skills

Additional Requirements:

• Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.
